Background:
King Charles I School is a secondary school and sixth form for boys and girls. The age range of the pupils is 13 to 18. In 2002 a new computer technology and a further ICT laboratory, in the sixth form area, will be opened in 2004. The school aims to provide broad and balanced curriculum. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. These activities include football, netball, cricket, hockey and rugby. The library is accommodated in attractive surroundings and is organised by a full-time, qualified librarian. The music department is accommodated in the purpose-built Carolian music school where a wide range of music-making activities is on offer. The school aims to develop a caring, supportive and well-disciplined environment where pupils respect each other and different views.
