Background:

St Wulstan's Roman Catholic Primary school is a Catholic voluntary aided coeducational school for pupils aged five to 11 years. It was opened in 1978 with 58 pupils. The school is located in a small riverside town and serves Stourport, Bewdley, parts of Kidderminster and the outlying rural districts. The School is very successful in all kinds of sporting activities. For four years running the school won the overall champion school trophy for all the Catholic schools in Hereford and Worcester. In 2003 the boys won a silver medal for football and the girls won a bronze for netball. The School also has a strong music tradition. Every parent is automatically a member of the parents-teacher association, which has been running successfully since 1978. They hold a number of social events during the school year culminating in their major fundraising funday, which in 2001 raised £2,300 for the school. The school aims to create an environment where faith is the common factor in order to provide opportunities for appropriate religious experiences and expression.
