Background:

Windmill CofE Middle School is a secondary school for boys and girls. The age range of the pupils is nine to 13. The building, which was opened in 1968 and added to in 1972, consists of two, two-storey blocks, which affords nine classrooms plus a science laboratory, art room, library, music and drama centre. The school enjoys the use of two large hard play areas and extensive playing fields, environmental gardens and wildlife pond. Pupils who have a particular interest or talent in music are encouraged to join any of the extra-curricular music clubs. There are opportunities to sing and play in various groups. The school has excellent sporting facilities which include a good-sized gymnasium, three hard court playing areas, and on and off site sports fields. The school aims to ensure a secure and stable school environment in which children can enjoy learning and make progress commensurate with their abilities.
