Background:
Pershore High School is a mixed community specialist Technology College for students aged 12 to 18. It is highly regarded in its community as a very successful local school. The longstanding links between the high school and its contributory schools have been extended and reinforced since it became a Technology College. This will be further developed with second phase Technology College Status. As a high performing specialist school the school has been offered the opportunity of a second specialism as a training school. The school'stands on a very pleasant 27 acres site, built around the original 1932 buildings. An all weather sports surface pavilion, and a £3 million science block were opened in 2004 and 2005 respectively. During 2006-2007, a learning support centre and main entrance will be built, along with the creation of new facilities for the teaching of food and technology. The Technology college specialism has begun to have a good impact on curriculum provision and the school intend to exploit second phase status to become a truly outstanding school by the end of the decade. In summary, the school take pride in being a school with a proud history that has a very bright future. The school aims to enable every child to reach his or her potential in a caring and supportive environment. The school'seeks to enhance the opportunities and challenges offered to the students both within and outside the curriculum.
