Background:
Hopton Wafers CofE (Controlled) Primary School was built in 1872. The school is set in Hopton Wafers, a small village off the A4117 between Cleobury Mortimer and Ludlow, beneath the Clee Hills in South Shropshire. Facilities include a large school field and play area funded by a lottery grant, a modern village hall, playgrounds and a computer hub. There is also an active Parent-Teacher Association. Sports include swimming and bowling. The school buildings have recently been remodelled, to create an improved-access library, staff accommodation and storage. Each classroom is now fitted out with an interactive whiteboard.
