Background:

Malvern, The Chase, a specialist Technology College and beacon school, is a co-educational comprehensive day school administered by the Worcestershire Directorate of Educational Services. It serves Malvern and the surrounding villages and admits students aged 11 to 18. The school premises are essentially in three sections and on two closely associated sites. The main site consists of the nucleus of buildings erected in 1952, to which one major extension was added in 1970. It provides a variety of extra-curricular activities including: netball, hockey, football, rugby, tennis cricket, rounders and athletics. It also provides activities including: basketball, badminton, cross-country, aerobics, orienteering, volleyball and pop lacrosse. The school provides lunchtime and after-school activities to enhance learning. The school'seeks to encourage and reward excellence of every kind, to enable all pupils to achieve their full potential and become successfully independent and to stress the importance of caring inter-dependence.
