Background:
Founded in 1858, the school is set on the outskirts of Worcester in the village of Whittington. The buildings were modernised in 1995 and now comprise five permanent classrooms and two temporary classrooms with ancillary provision. The catchment area of the school is the civil parish of Whittington and the housing development bounded by Spetchley Road and Whittington Road. The school has 'strong' links with the local church, village and playschool. It is over-subscribed, with three applicants for every two places. Whittington aims to 'provide a welcoming, safe and secure school where children are able to achieve success and cope with difficulties in a supportive environment'.
