Background:
Whitbourne Primary is situated at the heart of Whitbourne village, with an intake of pupils from outlying areas. The main building dates from 1856 and a major refurbishment in 1995 provided the school with an additional classroom, office space, staff room, cloakrooms, and a craft and computer room. All children may learn a brass or stringed musical instrument, play netball and football or join the art club as extra-curricular activities. With the exception of the winter months, children from Years 5 and 6 can choose to go sailing. The support of the Parent, Teacher and Friends Association has provided funds for educational equipment and strengthens relations between home and school.
